Things become Classics for a Reason.....

There's something about World War I that has always interested and fascinated me, especially the air war portion, what with the Escadrille Lafayette, Flying Circus, Udet, Rickenbacker, Richthofen, Voss, Brown, ect.  And the Aircraft, oh, the aircraft....there is a grace and a style in those 19-teens warbirds that you can't find in the newer stuff.

See what I mean? The Fokker D.VIII Razor is just gorgeous.

Today, Fantasy of Flight hosted a WWI Symposium, and they put their WWI Warbirds all together in the south hangar.
As a friend of the museum, I was waved in about half an hour before the crowds were allowed through the door, so I got to shoot all the girls without interruption.

As always, there were warbirds in the air, and, as befitting the theme today, Kermit took up the Fokker Dr.I and the Albatros D.Va

First up, the Dr.I

Then the Albatros, possibly the sexiest looking fighter of all time, took to the air.
